Scargill’s kittens – update 10/02/2010
As you’ll see below, one of our cats, Rosie – had 4 kittens some time ago– they are shown here at 3 weeks old, they could see and the black one had JUST ABOUT mastered the box as you’ll see in the photos below. Enjoy… hover over the pics for explanations…
We have three adult cats right now and one youngster! The one on the right is Rosie, our latest and she’s a Maine Coon. She’s just 15 months old and as of 31/8/2009 she has now had KITTENS! She is extremely cute and friendly and has an UTTER fascination with water, spending hours in the kitchen trying to stop drips coming out of the tap, or checking out the bath for signs of water coming back through the plug-hole etc. Our friend Kath will tell you she looks like a re-incarnated “Jimmy” – one of our first cats and one who used to spend much of his time in the office when I worked at home with staff and he was universally liked. We’ve had many cats over the years but Rosie is rapidly becoming our favourite – no, scratch that, she IS our favourite.
Here you’ll see Pamela aka Pammy-Wan-Kenobi– she came from a Persian cat centre and it’s fairly obvious she’s a character. She’s a bit weird and is very easily frightened and spent the first month of her time at our home hiding behind the sofa. When she does lighten up she’s very friendly for a while and is partial to tucking her head under your chin.
Finally, Lillie – our second and now oldest Persian, she’s about 14 now. A wonderful personality, I’m her best friend – but she does not look after herself and constantly needs de-knotting. This is one of many photos I’ve taken of her over the years and she is the most photogenic cat we’ve had by far.
Rosie has developed an interest in water and frequently comes into the house soaking wet from wandering around in the stream outside. As you can see she’s quite keen on the bath – and the loo… and one of her favourite pastimes is sitting next to the tap in the kitchen with her head in running water or wrapping herself around anyone or anything handy.
Here, finally are some photos of earlier cats…
